SPARQ Stones, small rocks made from recycled scrap
soapstone, sustain the temperature of your drink without watering it down. These unique, very chic stones can be used to chill whiskey
for that perfect Dad. While there are plenty of opinions about the BEST
single malt scotch available, there is only one way to serve it up! The
SPARQ reusable soapstone stones chill your fine liquor without diluting the superior taste. SPARQ Stones can also be heated to keep that first cup of coffee warm well into the morning.
Features
- Soapstone Ice Rocks will chill your liquor without diluting it.
- Because soapstone retains its temperature longer than ice, Soapstone Ice Rocks provide for a more sustained chill.
- Ice rocks hold their temperature out of the freezer for 1 hour or more.
- Soapstone Ice Rocks have been sent through a tumbling process to wear down the edges, meaning they won’t scratch your glass.
- Never wear out or lose their ability to chill your drinks.
- Soapstone is non-porous, odorless and tasteless.
- Soapstone will not react to household cleaners.
- Chill and enjoy a perfectly balanced spirit.
Uses:
- Our Soapstone Ice Rocks are best used as a substitute for ice in low volume drinks or when you do not want to dilute your spirit with melting ice. Don’t be fooled by the name, soapstone also does an excellent job holding warm temperatures too.
- One of the best uses for Soapstone Ice Rocks are with bourbon, scotch, or whiskey. Pour a few ounces, add 3 pre-chilled stones from your freezer, and enjoy. Stones hold their temperature out of the freezer for 30 minutes or more. When you are finished, just wash and reuse.
- For those who find their white wine or champagne warming up too fast, Soapstone Ice Rocks are a great way to sustain that chill for longer.
- As we mentioned earlier, you can warm the stones up and keep beverages such as coffee and tea hot. You can put the stones in the microwave for under a minute to warm the stones up and then drop them in your favorite morning beverage. Be advised, the stones will get extremely hot if you are not careful. Do not, directly handle the stones with any part of your skin as you may burn yourself.
Please note, we do not recommend using Ice Rocks in delicate glasses such as Riedel as they can cause them to break.

My Thoughts:
My husband enjoys a glass of whiskey every once and awhile, but hates drinking it warm. Because he doesn't drink it on a regular basis, we don't keep whiskey chilled in the refridgerator. Instead, it sits on his bar shelf, waiting for him to reach for it, to unwind after a hectic day, or for a pick-me-up. In the past, he has tried adding ice cubes to his glass, but he finds they only end up diluted the whiskey, making it just taste like a watered down alcoholic drink.
So, when I received these Soapstone SPARQ Stones the other day, the first thing I did before telling my husband, was throw them in the freezer to chill. Unbenotes to me, my husband was having a stressful day at work, and ended up coming home and wanting a glass of whiskey. Before he took a sip, I told him to hold up a minute and grabbed 3 pre-chilled stones from the freezer. At first, he looked at me, and wondered why I was putting stones in his drink. After giving them a minute to chill his drink, I asked him to take a sip and let me know what he thought. He was hesitant at first, as he thought the stones would add a funny taste to the drink. I told him not to worry, and that they would make his drink more enjoyable. He took a sip, and didn't stop. Either he was thirsty, or he enjoyed the chilled whiskey :-) When he was done, he couldn't believe how these little Soapstone ice cubes could make his whiskey taste so good, and keep it chilled. Even though the drink didn't last him 30 minutes, it did stay chilled during the duration of his sipping.
I am not a whiskey drinking, but wanted to try these stones out. I ended up adding them to a glass of champagne one night, and then during the day time to a freshly prepared, but not yet chilled ice tea. Both drinks tasted great, thanks to the chilling effects of these SPARQ Stones. As for hot beverages, my husband tried them the other morning in his coffee and was impressed how it kept his cup of jo warm, while he was getting ready for work, tending to the girls and then taking the dogs out. Usually when he pours a cup of coffee, a few minutes later is has cooled off and doesn't taste good luke warm. Now, when he is having a busy morning and needs to step away from his freshly poured hot coffee, he can simply add SPARQ Stones to the cup to keep it hot. At first, he was afraid he would tip the coffee cup back and burn his mouth with the stones, but because they have some weight to them, they stayed at the bottom of the mug.
So, with Father's Day fast approaching, why not surprise Dad with a set of SPARQ Stones? He doesn't have to be a whiskey drinker to enjoy these versatile Soapstone stones, which keep drinks either cold or hot, depending on your drinking preference. In addition, these SPARQ Stones would make for a great housewarming or hostess gift.
