In Celebration of Earth Day in a few days, Wonderworld Toys is inviting you to help make our dear Mother Earth a cleaner
and greener place for all of us!
To celebrate Earth Day this year,
the eco-friendly wooden toy company just launched an interactive social media
campaign, “Every Day is Earth Day at Wonderworld”, where they’ll
donate one tree for every Facebook “Like”, Retweet and Tweet with #EarthDayAtWW
throughout the duration of the campaign, from now until April 22nd.
Wonderworld loves planting trees, in
fact, the company has a year-round program called the Tree Plus Project - a
tree planting initiative started in 2007 that plants two trees for every one
tree Wonderworld uses in their production. Since the start of the program,
Wonderworld has planted approximately 60,000 trees back in the forests of
Thailand, and continues to replenish the environment with planting thousands of
trees annually, projecting to plant 17,200 trees in the year 2012 alone!
Wonderworld, best known for their
award-winning classic wooden toys, intertwines educational value with play
value with an assortment of products for children ages birth and up. From
balance bikes to sorters and stackers and furniture, Wonderworld products are
created from environmentally-friendly Rubberwoord and crafted with quality so
they can be passed down from generation to generation. Rubberwood is a replenishable material, meaning that after the tree no
longer produces latex, it is utilized for production – and the company
even extracts the pigment out of leaves to help create toys as well.
--My Thoughts--
I was sent Wonderworld Toys' Chicky Memory Game to review recently, and have to say it has become one of Savannah's favorite games.
In a small town, 2 or more farmers have to collect as many eggs as
possible to feed their families. But, in order to get the egg, they must
remember both the location and color of each egg, which are all hidden
under the look-alike hens.
Product Features:
Eco-friendly: made from environmentally friendly rubber wood and strictly using non-toxic paints, dyes and lacquers and formaldehyde free glue.

Even though she is not old enough to understand and play the memory game like it should be played, we have been having a great time using it as a way to teach her about colors. Savannah instantly took to the cute wooden chickens, and began her color exploration by helping me sort the eggs. And, since she has been laid up with a nasty stomach bug for the past few days, we have been using this time to practice her colors.
After Savannah was done sorting the colors, I began saying colors and asking her to hand me the eggs. She was able to find and give me all of the colors. And, after each one, she would clap with excitement. When I introduced the two-toned eggs into the mix, I used these eggs like dominoes and had her match colors up next to one another. At first, I didn't think she knew what to do. But, she did, and within a couple minutes, had all the eggs paired up.
Here is a photo of Savannah sorting the eggs with Nana, who came down to see her and bring her chicken soup.
I can't wait until Savannah (and Arabella) get older and can play this cute memory game together. But, in the meantime, we are enjoying learning about colors with this great wooden game from Wonderworld Toys.
