Summary:

Peter Pan is back––but his shadow is missing! When Peter loses his shadow while playing a game of Catch-Me-If-You-Can, he returns to Never Land to seek help from his kid pirate friend Jake. My Thoughts:

Savannah began watching Jake and the Never Land Pirates last summer, while we were visiting my parents at their summer place.  It was a rainy morning, and we were flipping through the television channels and stumbled upon this animated series.  As soon as Savannah saw Jake, Izzy and Cubby appear on the screen, she got so excited and was instantly hooked.  Since then, we make sure to watch it whenever it is on Disney Junior, or Tivo it if we will be out when it it on.  Savannah loves pretending to be on the adventures with Jake and the Pirates, and loves counting the gold doubloons they find along the way.  

So, when I was sent a copy of Jake and the Never Land Pirates:  Peter Pan Returns, which releases on DVD and Digital Copy on April 3rd, I couldn't wait to share this jam packed DVD with her.  Out of the 6 episodes included on this DVD, Savannah's favorite was Mama Hook Knows Best/Pixie Dust Away,which is a never-before seen episode. In this episode Hook's mother comes to visit and is taken on a treasure hunt.  When she finds out Hook has stolen the treasure, she makes him return it, and tells him it is not right to steal.  In addition, Izzy loses her pixie dust and goes on an adventure to the Fountain of Forever to replenish her pixie dust supply.  

I love this animated series, as it is not only entertaining to watch, but also teaches children about teamwork and friendship.  And, Savannah loves the music and seeing that a pirate can also be a girl, thanks to Izzy's character.  This new DVD will surely entertain Jake and the Never Land fans.  Don't forget to check out the bonus material, which includes a fun game that will have your child helping Izzy and Cubby with finding Jake's shadow, which has run off, in addition to a fun sing-along pirate party song.  I have caught myself a few times singing this song on the shower. :-)
