Yes, I know Valentine's Day is long gone. But, that doesn't mean you can't enjoy the lovable Charlie Brown and the rest of Peanuts Gang in the following two DVDs, which center around Valentine's Day and the theme of love. I make a point each and every day to let my husband and daughters know how much they are loved, and that I am grateful to have them in my lives. Every time I watch a Charlie Brown cartoon special on television or DVD, I begin to reminisce about my childhood and watching these classic cartoons with my family. And, now that I have a family of my own, I love sharing these childhood favorites with my daughters. While many people who jungle or gender-themed styles for their nursery rooms, I went with the Charlie Brown and Peanuts theme. My daughters' rooms are decked out with the Peanuts Gang, and each have their own Snoopy and Charlie Brown dolls. That being said, I love when the holidays roll around, as this gives me an excuse to dig out my Peanuts DVDs, and snuggle on the couch and watch them with my daughters. Instead of watching the movies prior to or on a holiday, I celebrate the holiday for the entire month. So, for the month of February, I was able to share the following two DVDs with my daughters. And, let me tell you -- we had a blast watching them over and over again!

Summary:
Love is in the air as Charlie Brown and the rest of the Peanuts
gang make plans to celebrate the upcoming Valentine’s Day holiday. It’s
the most romantic time of the year and everyone has big hopes of having
their dreams of love and friendship fulfilled. Charlie Brown once again
finds himself wishing he had the courage to ask the Little Red-Haired
Girl to the dance. While he pines away for her, Peppermint Patty and
Marcie do their best to woo him.
Unrequited love abounds with the Peanuts gang.
Lucy demands kisses and chocolates from Schroeder to no avail. Sally is
intent on making Linus her sweet baboo. Snoopy has taken to writing bad
poetry on his typewriter. Charlie Brown and his pals may be unlucky in
love but they are fortunate in friendship in this heartfelt holiday
treat.
My Thoughts:
Ah, what can I say? I am a sucker for all things Charlie Brown. And, that is no exception with this Valentine' Day themed DVD. This DVD centers around Charlie Brown and the infamous little red haired girl. If you grew up watching Charlie Brown cartoon specials on television, then you know about Charlie Brown and his unrequited love with the little red-haired girl. In this special, we see Charlie Brown hoping to ask his crush to the Valentine's Day dance. Will he muster up the courage to ask her to the dance? You will have to watch this cartoon for yourself. Love is in the air with all the Peanuts characters, as this DVD will get you in the mood for Valentine's Day, which I hope you celebrate year round with your love.

Summary:
Love may be in the air, but will there be anything in Charlie Brown's
mailbox? That's the question as the Peanuts gang gets ready to celebrate
Valentine's Day in the animated special featuring the beloved
characters created by Charles M. Schulz. As usual, Charlie Brown is
hoping he'll get some sort of a love note from the Little Red Haired
Girl -- though the way things are going, he'll settle for any sort of a
card from anyone! Meanwhile, Linus is pining for his teacher, Miss
Othmar, and wants to get her just the right Valentine's gift, while
Sally is a bit miffed with what she considers a disappointing present
from her "sweet baboo." Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown first aired on January 28, 1975
- Two additional TV specials: It's Your First Kiss, Charlie Brown, and You're in Love, Charlie Brown
- All-new featurette: Unlucky in Love: An Unrequited Love Story
My Thoughts:
This was my favorite of the two Peanuts Valentine's Day DVDs, as it contained the original special, "Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown," which aired in the 70's. This Emmy-nominated special was the first Peanuts movies I watched as a child. I fell in love with Snoopy, who played Cupid in this cartoon, as well as the lovable Charlie Brown. Back then, I rooted for him to receive tons of Valentine's Days, so that he could fill his briefcase with them. And, when I sat and watched this cartoon with my daughter, I found myself rooting again for Charlie Brown.
The second cartoon special on this disc, "You're in Love, Charlie Brown" centers around Charlie Brown trying to build up the courage to speak to the cute little red-haired girl before the school year is over. Like many children (and adults) who are smitten by someone, nerves get the best of us, and we find ourselves being overcome by shyness. Do we talk to them? What will they think? Will they talk back to us? All these questions and more run through our heads, as they did with Charlie Brown. Does he finally build up the nerve to talk to his red-haired crush? You will have to buy this DVD to find out, as I will not spoil it for you. I will just say that this special has all the drama and angst that we have come to know and love about Charlie Brown.
And, the third special on this digitally remastered DVD is "It's Your First Kiss, Charlie Brown." The cartoon pins Charlie Brown again with the little red-haired girl he had a crush on in the previous special on this disc. However, this time, he finds himself acting as the Queen's escort at the big Homecoming Dance. Again, we see Charlie Brown nervous about his first kiss. This is a cute cartoon, that will surely become a Valentine's Day favorite for both children and adults.

------------
If you are a Peanuts or Charlie Brown fan, you will love both of these DVDs, which center around Valentine's Day. And, even though Valentine's Day is over, doesn't mean you can't enjoy these Charlie Brown classics. My family and I love to watch the Halloween Charlie Brown classic throughout the year, as they bring a smile to your face, as you watch Charlie Brown and friends. We have a small Peanuts/Charlie Brown DVD collection going, and I know in time it will get bigger as old favorites are digitally remastered and re-released onto DVD. I love being able to introduce Charlie Brown to my daughters, and have them fall in love with the Peanuts gang, just as I did as a child.
Disclosure: I was sent copies of these DVDs from the vendor in order to write up an honest review. The views above are mine and mine alone.
