Summary:
Is there any part of the body that fascinates children as much as the face? A face can frown or cry, show happiness and show anger. In this remarkable new book with simple words and delightful pictures, the face, with its many parts, is explained in terms and concepts young minds can grasp.
My Thoughts:
I love the interaction this book provides. One minute you are learning about the different faces one makes, to creating these faces on a the wipe off pages included in this book. The wipe off pages of the male and female faces were Savannah's favorite part. I showed her how to make happy, sad, angry and other facial expressions, and she tried her best to re-create them. When we weren't having fun drawing faces, we both enjoyed looking at the bright and bold illustrations that graced each page of this book. I found this book to be a great teaching tool with young children. After reading it a few times to Savannah, I was able to ask her to make a certain face with an emotion, and she did. With simple words and kid-friendly faces, Savannah was able to grasp the concept of certain feelings/emotions one makes with their face. And, since reading this book, it has quickly become a favorite of Savannah's (and, mine!)
