My Thoughts:

I am a huge soft pretzel fan.  So, how could I say “No” to reviewing a Jumbo Bavarian Soft Pretzel from the San Diego Pretzel Company.  Prior to sampling their pretzel, I had never had a pretzel from San Diego, or knew that they were famous for soft pretzels.  I was first introduced to “real” soft pretzels when I visited Philadelphia years ago with my husband.  You could not miss the pretzel vendors there, as they were on almost every street corner.  We had originally travelled to Philly to sample true Philly Cheese Steaks and take in some of the historical landmarks, but instead we ended up discovering the Philly pretzel, and fell in love!

But, because I love soft pretzels, I had to give the San Diego Pretzel Company a chance.  First off, I loved the packaging that the jumbo soft pretzel came in. When you opened the cardboard box, the top half included the message above (I’m all twisted over you…Happy Valentine’s Day!” If you want to send this gift box year round, they offer over a dozen gift message options to choose, including birthdays, thank you, congrats and more.

In addition to the soft pretzel, a small jar of mustard was included for dipping.  I am not a huge pretzel and mustard fan, but my husband is and loved it!  He had only wished that the jar was bigger for such a large pretzel.  He ran out of mustard after a few dips.  Prior to eating, we ended up heating the pretzel in oven for 6 minutes.  Or, if you preferred, or were too hungry to wait 6 minutes, you could microwave it for 30 seconds.  Don’t worry about storing leftovers, as you will probably not have any.  Even though the pretzel is large, and can feed two people, it is so tasty, you will find yourself not being able to stop eating it, until is gone.  I had received the pretzel this past Saturday, and as a special treated, heated it up after putting the girls to sleep.  Within minutes of sitting down to watch a movie, my husband and I devoured the pretzel, right down to the loose salt sprinkles in our napkins.  

After sampling this pretzel, and comparing it to those I have eaten and had shipped to my home from Philly, I can safely say that the San Diego Pretzel Company offers an amazing and fresh pretzel.  The flavor is out of this world! And, I can’t get over how soft this rustic tasting jumbo pretzel was.  I will definitely be ordering more of these pretzels and have them shipped to me for now on.
