---My Review---

I am a huge fan of Baby Einstein learning toys, and have buying them for years for my daughters and ask gifts for my nephew and close friend’s children.  So, when I was sent the Count & Discover Treasure Chest for my daughters to play with, and to review, I couldn’t wait to see how this new toy compared to others they have and love.  First off, let me say that based on the durability of this product, I would suggest that this toy be used only with children 6-12 months in age.  Savannah is now 18 months, and kept trying to lift the chest cover up all the way.  When she did this, the cover would pop right off.  Also, I noticed that if you put the coins in too quickly or take a long pause between pushing them through the chest opening, that the number count will start all over again, and, at times, the colors or shapes aren’t said.  Not sure why this happens.  I was trying to teach Savannah counting, and when we fumbled for a coin, it went from 3 back to 1.  Not a good thing, when trying to teach basic counting, as it may confuse a little one.

But, for the overall fun and  playfulness of this toy, both my daughters found it enjoyable and keep going back to play with it.  They like the flashing lights classical melodies and the different languages that tell them the shapes, colors and number of coins they have added to the chest.  And, the coins are big enough for little hands to grab.  My only gripe is that I wished the chest would open all the way, instead of halfway.  It was hard to take out the coins with adult hands.  I, instead had to tip and shake out.
