DVD Review -- The Wild Stallion, Starring Miranda Cosgrove

Synopsis:
On the Utah-Nevada border, it is rumored that mysterious and majestic wild stallions run free across the rugged mountain terrain. Determined to photograph these illusive creatures, eleven-year-old Hanna (Miranda Cosgrove, TV's iCarly) and her father, Frank (Fred Ward), head to Bear Mountain Ranch, run by Frank's old flame, Matty (Connie Sellecca). While Hanna explores her new surroundings—a big change from her city life—she meets a new friend in CJ (Danielle Chuchran), a farm girl with plenty of horse experience. But the adventure is just getting started as they discover a plan hatched by the wealthy tycoon, Novak (Robert Wagner), to rid the area of the wild horses. Now the girls must turn to Matty for help before the legend of the stallions is lost forever.

My Thoughts:

This is a very heartwarming film that will be enjoyed by the whole family.  And, if your tween/teen is an iCarly or Miranda Cosgrove fan, then they will go crazy when they see she stars in this movie, which was released back in 2009.  The story follows 2 young girls who come from separate backgrounds, but are brought together to help save the wild horses that roam the borders of Utah and Nevada.    Hannah and CJ find out that Mr. Novak wants to get rid of the black stallions, their adventure and friendship begins, as they do all that they can do protect these beautiful and endangered animals.

I have reviewed a few books and movies in the past that center around wild horses, and now can add another great movie to this is growing list.  If you are a horse lover, then you will love this movie.  The scenery alone is breathtaking, and worth watching the movie for.  But, as a whole, this makes for a great family movie night film.  And, adults will love this film, as it stars legendary actors, Connie Sellecca, Paul Sorvino and Robert Wagner.

Disclosure:  I was sent a copy of this DVD from the vendor in order to write up an honest review.  The views above are mine and mine alone.
