Summary:

I Love You More… Than Chocolate

This book was originally a song, and inside the back cover of the book, is a CD of Miss Melanie singing the song. When Melanie would tuck her children into bed at night, she made sure they knew how much they were loved. She told them she loved them more than anything – even chocolate! Her children knew she was a chocoholic, so they had no doubt, they knew they were loved.

What people are saying about the book: My children’s eyes lit up when I read them Melanie Milburn’s book, “I Love You More… Than Chocolate”. As many times as I’ve told them I love them, in what I’ve said and what I’ve done, they’ve never been as delighted as they were to hear that I really did love them more than chocolate. The book conveys what parents want their children to know in a way that speaks clearly and impressively to the child’s mind and heart. Inspired by this story, my three year old beamed as I tucked her into bed, “Mommy, I love YOU more than pink ice cream!” – Amy McClellan”My five year old and I love this beautiful book! All children want to know how much they are loved and this special book puts that into words that children can understand and remember. My five old is always asking me if I love her more than chocolate and of course I tell her yes!” Cindy McLean.

My Thoughts:

Ever since receiving this book a couple of weeks ago, it has quickly become a bedtime favorite.  What I love most about the story is how easy it is for young children to understand with the rhyming scheme.  The book uses simple words, that children can understand and relate to.  Now, you don’t have to worry about finding a book to share with your children, to show them how you much you love them.  In addition to the easy to read story, the book contains beautiful illustrations done by Cindy Coleman, that will have mesmerized and wanting to point to each illustration as you read the story to them.  Savannah just loved the bright and playful illustrations and couldn’t stop pointing to them.  A few times, I had to flip the page, as she couldn’t stop talking about their illustrations.  Her favorites were the zoo and night sky illustrations.

You don’t have to be a chocolate lover to enjoy this book.  But, I know that my daughters will love how I compare how much I love them to my love of chocolate. Yum!

So, if you are looking for a book to share with your little one this Valentine’s Day, why not pick up a copy of I Love You More Than…Chocolate by Melanie Milburn today.

  6. Well my oldest is only 3 and a half years old, but the best Valentine's Day present he's given me was a handprint that he "painted" at Daycare when he was 19 months old. I have it in my kitchen still. :)
