Square One Organics Baby Food (Review and Giveaway)

My Thoughts:

I was recently sent a sampling of the Square One Organics baby food to try with my daughter, Savannah.  Square One Organics are available for 6 months and up, 8 months and up, and 10 months and up, so depending upon your child's age and stage of eating (firsts, more complex and finger foods).  Even though Savannah is eating more finger foods and “people foods,” I find that if I give her organic baby foods as part of her lunch and dinner, it helps with her digestion and keeping her regular.  So, when I received my box of goodies to try with her, I couldn’t wait to see what she thought.

First, I was surprised at the little serving containers the organic baby food came in, and how you had to keep them frozen.  Then, I read the packaging and saw that these foods only contain organic fruits, vegetables, grains and water.  I didn’t have to worry about nasty preservatives or additives that are found in most of the other jar and pouch baby foods on the market.  Also, there were no harmful chemicals or pesticides used with the growing of the fruits and vegetables used in Square One Organics products, so really but my mind at ease.

Over the course of a week, I had Savannah sample each of the Square One Purees.  Based on her reaction and request for more, I have to say she enjoyed the mango, spinach, butternut squash, and peas. She was not a fan of the papaya or broccoli purees, as she quickly spit them out of her mouth with the few spoonful's I gave her.  

In addition to these flavors, Square One purees also come in Quinoa and pumpkin flavors. I ended up mixing the quinoa and mango together for a thicker consistency, which Savannah loved.

Overall, Savannah enjoyed this new brand of organic baby food purees, and now I have some great recipes, which incorporate these foods, to serve Savannah.  Just tonight, I made her the Vegan Mango Coconut Panna Cotta Pudding for dessert, and she devoured it in minutes! And, the other day, I added a container of peas to her mac and cheese to make Square One Organics recipe, Green Mac and Cheese.  Savannah loved it!
