Before the events of Blood Gulch there was Project Freelancer, an experimental military program which sought to create a new breed of warrior. This new soldier was to be faster, stronger and smarter than any other we’ve seen before… which, based on previous seasons of RED VS. BLUE, doesn’t really take that much.
Adding an exciting new cast of characters to the classic ensemble, this innovative narrative—part amazing action prequel and part hilarious comedy sequel—unveils the mystery behind Project Freelancer and its dire consequences for the Reds and Blues.
Bonus Features

My Thoughts:
You don't have to be a huge Halo video game fan to appreciate Red vs Blue. This DVD is the ninth season in the series and is broken down into two storylines. The first one uses the “Halo: Reach” engine and picks up after the finale of “Revelation”. The second storyline is presented with CGI and follows after the “Blood Gulch Chronicles”.
Let me first say that if you haven't seen the previous seasons, you want to go back and watch them prior to season as you will be lost. My husband is a big fan of the series and couldn't wait to see Red vs Blue Season 9. My husband couldn't' stop raving about the CGI scenes. I even caught him playing them over and over again, as they "were so freaking cool!, he exclaimed." The only negative thing my husband had to say about the DVD was how it got a bit confusing as it jumped back and forth between the two storylines. In regards to the bonus features, my husband enjoyed watching the the piece on the voices behind the characters. He said it was nice to put a face with the voice. Overall, my husband thoroughly enjoyed this film and has added it to his video games turned movies collection.
Disclosure: I was sent a copy of this DVD from New Video in order to write up an honest review. The views above are mine and mine alone.
