Summary:
This is a romantic comedy set in Paris about a family that goes there because of business, and two young people who are engaged to be married in the fall have experiences there that change their lives. It's about a young man's great love for a city, Paris, and the illusion people have that a life different from theirs would be much better
My Thoughts:
While on vacation with his fiance's parents, Gil, who is a budding screenwriter, turns to the beauty of Paris for inspiration. He finds his inspiration during midnight walks in Paris, all while drifting further and further apart from the woman he is about to marry. Mesmerized by Paris in the 1920's, Gil Pender, played by Owen Wilson, is transported back in time, where he mingles with some of his favorite writers, musicians and artists.
If you are a fan of Woody Allen films, then you will love this movie, written and directed by him. I was blown away with the cinematography and the brilliant visuals of Paris. You can see why Paris is considered the city of love. I also liked how you were transported back into the roaring 20's in Paris. If you love to daydream, are a romantic chick flick fan, and ever dreamed of going to Paris, then you will love watching this film. Even if the storyline doesn't draw you in, the footage of Paris will! Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams have wonderful chemistry and are joy to watch together. Will their relationship last, even though they both want different things, and seem to be traveling on different paths? I will not spoil the ending for you? You will just have to rent or buy this movie and find out for yourself! Sorry :-)
