My Thoughts:
I was given the opportunity to try both Almond Fusion flavors and have to say my favorite was the mild version. I ended using one of the recipes from the Almond Fusion site to truly see how adding this to a dish would spice up the flavor. Here is the recipe I used:
Carrots Royale, with Almond Butter (Created by: Almond Board of California)
(Nutritional Information -- servings 4)
Ingredients
2 cups thinly sliced carrots
2 Tbs. butter
1/4 cup orange marmalade
1/4 cup sliced green onions
1 Tbs. orange-flavored liqueur
1/3 cup almond fusion
2 Tbs. butter
1/4 cup orange marmalade
1/4 cup sliced green onions
1 Tbs. orange-flavored liqueur
1/3 cup almond fusion
Preparation:
Sauté carrots in butter until tender-crisp, stirring constantly. Stir in remaining ingredients, tossing to coat evenly.
This recipe was easy to prepare and was extremely tasty. Who know with a little almond butter spread that you could enhance a carrot dish. I had friends over and served them this side dish, and everyone couldn’t stop talking about how great it was. I will definitely be adding this side dish to my upcoming Thanksgiving menu. In the meantime, I have been playing around with pasta dishes and adding the mild almond fusion spread in, and simply love the flavor that this butter adds. It is not too overpowering, and offers the right about of smoothness to the dish.
My husband, on the hand, loves spicy and hot foods, and took a liking to the Heated Almond Fusion spread. He ended up spreading the butter on toast, as well as spooning it directly from the jar into his mouth. Before I could try to incorporate this spread into meals for his opinion, the jar was empty.
So, if you are a fan of Almond Butter, or are looking for a healthy alternative to dips and spreads, why not consider picking up a jar or two of Almond Fusion today. You will not be disappointed.
