DOLE® has recently introduced two new products, DOLE® Fruit Smoothie Shakers® and DOLE® Frozen Fruit Single-serve Cups. Both contain frozen fruit and no artificial ingredients, providing consumers with new, convenient ways to enjoy the great taste of fresh fruit right from the freezer.
DOLE® Fruit Smoothie Shakers® and DOLE® Frozen Fruit Single-serve Cups are two new products that can help Americans balance their calorie intake and follow the 2010 Dietary Guidelines, which encourage eating more healthy foods like fruits and vegetables, and consuming less sodium, saturated and trans fats, and added sugars. Plus, real yogurt containing the benefits or pre- and probiotics (live and active cultures) in DOLE® Fruit Smoothie Shakers® provides additional nutritious value.
DOLE® Fruit Smoothie Shakers® come in three delicious and nutritionally-fortified varieties: Strawberry Banana, Strawberry and Mixed Berry.
Everybody loves smoothies but they are a lot of work to make at home. Now, with DOLE® Fruit Smoothie Shakers®, consumers can say “bye-bye blender” and enjoy a great-tasting, nutritious, real-fruit and yogurt smoothie any time of day—at home or on-the-go. DOLE® Fruit Smoothie Shakers® also provide a delicious way to add healthy fruit and real, non-fat yogurt with the added benefits of pre- and probiotics to your diet, as a nutritious snack or meal replacement.
DOLE® Fruit Smoothie Shakers® are made with frozen yogurt beads and finely cut fruit. Through Dole’s unique product development, simply remove from the freezer, add your favorite juice, then shake for 30-45 seconds for an instant real-fruit smoothie. Shake your way into a healthy, great tasting smoothie – without the mess of using a blender and at a fraction of the cost of buying from a smoothie shop.
Strawberry Banana is fortified with 100% DV of Vitamin C; Strawberry is fortified with 5 grams of Fiber; Mixed Berry is fortified with 5 grams of Protein. DOLE® Fruit Smoothie Shakers® are all-natural and contain pre- and probiotics (live and active cultures). These low-fat smoothies at only 180 – 190 calories per serving (with 7-oz of juice) are also a good source of calcium.
DOLE® Frozen Fruit Single-serve Cups come in three delicious varieties: Blueberry, Strawberry and Pineapple.
Unlike traditional shelf-stable and refrigerated fruit cups that are packed in juice or syrup, DOLE® Frozen Fruit Single-serve Cups are just fruit and contain no added sugars or preservatives. Each convenient single-serve cup contains a full serving of fruit and 50 calories or less. Simply grab a cup from your freezer and enjoy as a snack any time of day, or use for smoothies, as toppings on yogurt or granola, as recipe ingredients, or on its own as a healthy dessert. Parents can feel good about giving their kids DOLE® Frozen Fruit Single-serve Cups. No cutting or rinsing required, just drop a cup in your kids’ lunch bags and it will be ready to enjoy by lunchtime.
DOLE® Frozen Fruit Single-serve Cups utilize breakthrough, patent- pending technology to minimize texture-loss during defrost for a just-like-fresh appearance, taste and texture. Plus, the Nature Lock seal guarantees fresh fruit taste and texture—so the fruit is never mushy.
My Thoughts:
I was sent coupons in order to try out a few of these new products. I found that these products were cheaper at Wal-Mart, compared to my local Price Chopper and Super Stop N Shop. For the DOLE® Frozen Fruit Single-serve Cups, I picked up a package of blueberry and strawberry cups to try out. My 16-month old daughter, Savannah, has been teething lately, so in the AM, I usually try giving her cold or frozen items to help soothe her sore gums. I wasn’t sure how she would take to these fruits, as she is not usually a big fan of fresh strawberries and blueberries, but I couldn’t believe how much she enjoyed these DOLE® Frozen Fruit Single-serve Cups. By the time she was done, not only did she have blue and pink fingers, but her tongue also matched. She couldn’t stop eating them. I was able to sneak in a few spoonfuls for myself when she was chewing, and was amazed at how tasty these frozen fruit cups were. That night, I sent my husband to Wal-Mart to buy more, for both Savannah and I. Now, every morning when I get up, we each have a cup of frozen fruit, along with oatmeal or cold cereal. What a great snack these DOLE® Frozen Fruit Single-serve Cups are. As a busy mom to 2 young children, I was finding myself snacking on junk food while standing as it was hard to sit down and eat lunch (either one baby is napping, while the other is awake). Now, I can store these convenient snack cups in the freezer, and pull them out when I get hungry and need to refuel quickly.
As for the DOLE® Fruit Smoothie Shakers®, I picked up the Strawberry Banana and Mixed Berry flavors to try. What I loved most about these smoothies is that you don’t have to hassle with the blender to make a great tasting smoothie. And, did I mention that clean up is a breeze. You simply toss your empty container in the recycling bin and you are done. No more having to clean every little piece of the blender container and your cup. You simply add juice to the DOLE® Fruit Smoothie Shakers® container and shake away. Then, you take the cover off and pop in a straw, and you are ready to enjoy your homemade fruit smoothie, made with “real” frozen fruit. Since picking up the samples to try, I have tried the Strawberry DOLE® Fruit Smoothie Shaker®. But, out of all 3 flavors, I have to say I especially enjoy the Strawberry Banana DOLE® Fruit Smoothie Shakers®. What a refreshing this treat is any time of day!
