“Bye Bye, Pacifier! Big Kid Stories with Elmo” DVD Helps Kids Give up the Pacifier, Ride a Tricycle and Prepare for their First Haircut
Everyone’s favorite furry monster is helping your little one become a “big kid” as Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit educational organization behind Sesame Street and Warner Home Video (WHV) released Bye Bye, Pacifier! Big Kid Stories with Elmo on DVD on November 1, 2011 for SRP $14.98. Elmo shows preschoolers how to deal with difficult emotions and encourages them to learn new things in Bye Bye, Pacifier! Big Kid Stories with Elmo – helping kids through important milestones such as giving up a pacifier, learning to ride a tricycle and getting a first haircut.
Bye Bye, Pacifier! Big Kid Stories with Elmo provides young children with encouragement, comfort and laughs on their journey to becoming a “big kid.” Featuring three stories that every child and parent can relate to, including a tale from Elmo on how he gave up his binky, this DVD will help kids feel confident in saying goodbye to their pacifiers too! Additionally, Bye Bye, Pacifier! Big Kid Stories with Elmo, contains all-new animated content and Elmo belts out a brand new tune entitled “Big Kid Too.” DVD extras include a 19-page PDF story and activity book and the classic clip “Proud.”
“We are very excited to release Bye Bye, Pacifier! Big Kid Stories with Elmo which helps children find solace in one of their favorite Sesame Street characters when overcoming ‘big kid’ challenges,” said Jeff Brown, WHV Executive Vice President and General Manager, Family & Animation. “Giving up a pacifier is one of the toughest things for young kids to do, and Bye Bye, Pacifier! Big Kid Stories with Elmo gives parents helpful suggestions on how to ease the transition.”
Now in its 42nd season, Sesame Street is the longest-running program in children’s television. The series has received more Emmy awards than any other show in television history (138), as well as a Lifetime Achievement Emmy Award honoring the 40th year.
My Thoughts:
Whose child doesn't love Elmo? Savannah is in love with him, and every time she sees him on television or in stores, she grins ear to ear and can't stop smiling. Each morning, she begins her day watching Sesame Street mainly for Elmo's World. So, when I found out that there was a new DVD on the market with Elmo in it, I just had to get it for her to watch. Since receiving this DVD a week ago, we have watched it a dozen times. Out of all the movies I show her, she continues to pick this DVD to watch. And, it offers great content to help your little one kick the binky habit. Savannah only started using her pacifier at 6 months old, but we have been trying to ween her off ever since. Thanks to this DVD, it will help her father and I do just that.
If you little one still uses a pacifier and books and other methods haven't worked for you, why not pick up this DVD today and show your children how they can be "big kids" without the pacifier.
---GIVEAWAY---
I was sent an extra copy of this DVD for one lucky reader. The first person to email me and let me know what year Elmo was introduced to the Sesame Street family and premiered on TV, will win a copy.
