My Thoughts:

I love series books, and after having read the I See series from Charles Ghigna, also known as Father Goose, I have found another children's author, from here on out.  With the help of Charles' four books in the I See series, you can share the joy and beauty of each season with your child, through wonderful illustrations and rhyming text.  Instead of trying to explain the changing seasons to your child, now you can simply pull out these four books and read about them.

In the I See Fall book, children experience the many joys of the season, including the changing leaf colors that eventually fall, to pumpkin and apple picking.  When reading this and other books in the series, you are instantly transported to that season.  For a short time, you forgot about the current weather and bast in the beauty of the season you are reading about.  I found myself recalling memories from the current year's Spring, Summer and Fall with our daughter, and as we welcome in Winter and snowfall, building snowmen and ice skating, we also added another daughter to our family, to add to the wonder and joy of the season.  Like in the Spring book, it talked about playing in rain puddles, to the flowers that begin to bloom, or in the Summer book, with fresh squeezed lemonade, picnics in the park and swimming with friends, each of these rhyming books brought back so many fond memories with my daughter.

My daughter loved pointing to all the illustrations and having me talk about memories that we had made this past year during that season.  And, with less than 30 pages per title, she stayed engaged from start to finish.  I can't wait to share these books again with her, as we welcome in each new season from here on out.  And, when my girls begin to read, these easy-to-read books will come in handy for beginner reading.

If you love the changing of the seasons, or like to reminisce with your little ones about the past year, these books will surely make for a fun reading and bonding experience.  Children will love grabbing a book from this series just to look at the bright and vivid illustrations, like my daughter does.
