Brynn and Amie -- Artisan Foods and Gifts from the Outer Banks (Product Review)

I was recently sent the following samples from Brynn and Amie's, and can't stop raving about them to family and friends:

karma krunchTM is our homemade, all natural granola, perfect for breakfast, snacks, or anytime!
karma krunch granola
Originally developed to meet the early morning tastes of our Farmers' Market customers, it has become one of our favorite things to eat.

Made with pure maple syrup, full of healthy fruits, nuts and seeds, and only slightly sweet, it is lighter and toastier than other commercial granolas.

Try it with milk, over ice cream, or - our personal favorite - with yogurt and fresh fruit.  It's even perfect right out of the bag! One devoted customer dips her banana in it...yum!

Ingredients: Rolled oats, almonds, walnuts, coconut, sunflower seeds, raisins, dried cranberries, dried apricots (sulphur dioxide), sesame seeds, pure maple syrup, canola oil, brown sugar, salt, ground flax seed.
karma krunchTM is available in 1 pound bags - $9.50/lb.

A Bliss Flops Chocolate Pop -- From the Chocolate Bliss product line, and created by Amie, this tasty pop is molded in the shape of a flip flop and is perfect for beach bums and those who want to savor summer as we head into fall.

Ingredients:  Dark chocolate, soy lecithin, pistachios, dried cherries, dried cranberries, crystallized ginger, Outer Banks Sea Salt.

In addition to the flip flop molded pop I received, Chocolate Bliss is available in two package sizes:

The Chocolate Bliss Box contains 12 individual pieces, presented in an attractive box, suitable for giving (or eating!).

The Chocolate Bliss Bag contains 24 individual pieces.

Also, from the Karma Krumbles line, Brynn and Amie's Toasty, Crunchy Granola Nuggets.

My Thoughts:

If you know me or have been reading my blog for awhile, you know that I am a big chocoholic, so hands down my favorite treat of the 3 samples I was sent was the Bliss Flops for sure.  I loved the additional of the sea salt that was sprinkled on top of the rich, dark chocolate.  Who knew adding sea salt would elevate the chocolate flavor more.  I couldn't stop biting into this chocolate pop, even though it looked too good to eat.  But, as a product tester, I needed to eat it to share my thoughts with you -- so, I did. :-)  Amie really knows how to incorporate dried fruits like cherries and cranberries to create an artisan chocolate that can rival chocolate treats found in high-end chocolate boutiques, etc.  I will definitely be buying more chocolate from the Chocolate Bliss collection.

My husband and I especially loved the Karma Krunch Nuggets.  When I received the box in the mail, we were about to head out for a day trip.  So, I quickly grabbed the bag of tasty granola nuggets to munch on in the car.  Both my husband and I couldn't stop reaching into the bag for more, until there were only crumbs left.  Don't worry, my husband finished of the crumbs, too, so there was no waste.  We ended up having to stop at the convenient store to pick up a bottle of cold milk, which made washing down these delightful granola nuggets ever so much better.  I have to say that I am not really a big fan of granola bars, but these bite size granola nuggets were the best thing I have tasted in a long time.  They made snacking on granola (usually I only reserve eating granola for breakfast in a bowl), a fun and tasty experience.  My husband is more of a granola fan than I, and said that this was the best homemade tasting granola he has eaten.  He loved all the natural ingredients that went into each nugget.

Having sampled and loved the Karma Krunch Nuggets, I knew both my husband and I would love the Karma Krunch granola and we did.  We especially loved how it was made with pure maple syrup, chock full of fruits, nuts and seeds, and toasted to perfection.  I ate this for breakfast with cold milk, while my husband would sprinkle it over his yogurt in the AM, and added it to his favorite ice cream as a crunchy dessert topping. I also found him reaching for a handful as a snack.  So, this Karma Krunch Granola is versatile in the many ways one can enjoy this delicious and healthy granola.

Overall, both my husband and I loved each of the products sent from the Brynn and Amie product line.  We will definitely be buying more granola and chocolate.  And, I can't wait to buy and try their muffin and pancake mixes.

About Brynn and Amie:

Friends, and now business partners, Brynn and Amie have combined their diverse artistic and culinary talents to create brynn&amie artisan food and gifts.

Where to start...musician, real estate attorney, mother, 3rd grade teacher, residential designer, web designer, potter and musician. In some ways, I guess I've come full circle in my creative journey! While I've had several careers, and way too much education, I find that my heart is in creating. I've been singing all my life, but I came much later to the potter's wheel.

Times change. When it became clear that house design was not longer a viable career, my mother's friend told me to follow my heart. So that's what I'm doing.

I can’t remember when I first discovered my creative self - it has always just been so. It is what I am. Music, art and theater were my motivation to go to school.

My first job was designing window displays for a department store. I’ve had a long career in interior design and had a boutique catering business. These were the perfect mix of business and creativity for me, but through the years I have allowed myself less and less time for more personal creative expression.

It was time for a change. So, in addition to my kitchen, where culinary adventures frequently take place, I took over a space tucked away on the top floor of the house and turned it into “Amie World”. The view is sky and tree tops. Sometimes I can hear the ocean. It is my get-away to paint and draw, sew, craft, peruse my cookbook collection, make a mess and watch QVC. This one small change has channeled a flow of creativity that I hope never stops.

Disclosure:  I was sent samples from the vendor in order to write up an honest review.  The views above are mine and mine alone.
