Growums -- Gardening the Whole Family Will Enjoy (Review and Giveaway)

With the holidays right around the corner, I have been on the lookout for unique gifts to buy for Savannah, as well as family and friends.  When I stumbled across Growums, I knew I had to share this great kid-friendly gardening kit with you all.

My Thoughts:

Growums garden kit I was sent to try out with Savannah, was how cute the container was.  I love how they bring the vegetables to life as characters. This will really draw your child and and will get them excited about gardening.  For the past few years, we have been members of a local summer CSA, where we would pick up fresh fruits and veggies from a local farm each week.  Now that Savannah is walking and eating people food, it was nice to bring her to the farm and let her see and sample the different fruits and veggies.  We especially loved when it was pick your own beans or tomatoes days, as we could take Savannah out into the fields and have her help us pick the fresh fruits and vegetables.  As a result, Savannah has become a fan of tomatoes, carrots and green beans.

So, when I heard about Growums and received a sample kit, I couldn't wait to begin growing a garden in the house, especially for Savannah.  The Stir Fry kit contained Broccoli, Bok Choy, Peas and Carrots to be planted and enjoyed later.  Directions for planting were easy:

After I was done planting the seeds, I placed the container in the bay window.  On the eighth day, I began seeing sprouts peeking up out of the soil.  Now, each morning when Savannah and I get up, we head to the window and check out our little stir fry garden.  This makes for something to look forward to each morning together as a family, and once the plants mature, we will be able to enjoy them in a nice, healthy dinner.  

Even though my daughter is too young to help plant the garden with me or realize what is going on, these kits would make great gifts for young gardeners.  Or, if you are looking for an educational activity to do with you children, this will surely be a hit.  And, once you register online, you and your children can enjoy all the games, information and fun that buying and planting a Growums kit has to offer!
