Food Should Taste Good Tortilla Chips -- Product Review and Giveaway

What is So Special About Food Should Taste Good Tortilla Chips?:

Their all natural tortilla chips are made from real, simple ingredients. They are all free of cholesterol, preservatives and trans fat, and they do not contain genetically modified ingredients (GMOs).  Also, Food Should Taste Good chips are certified Kosher and Gluten Free, lower in sodium, and are a good source of dietary fiber. 

Food Should Taste Good currently have 12 flavors in their product line: Multigrain, Sweet Potato, Olive, Jalapeño, The Works!, Chocolate, Cantina, Lime, Blue Corn, Cheddar, Toasted Sesame, and White Cheddar.

My Thoughts:

I was sent the following tortilla chip samples to review:  

Multigrain--Flax, sunflower and sesame seeds add to the distinctively nutty flavor, making this chip a wholesome, perfect snack to be enjoyed on its own or dipped into your favorite hummus.

Jalapeno--Conveying the true taste of this pepper, with a clean, garden-like flavor on the first bite and a lingering hint of heat, the subtle spiciness of the Jalapeno chip elevates any salsa or queso dip.

Sweet Potato--A hint of cane sugar enhances the natural nuttiness of the sweet potato in a chip that is a riff on a classic baked sweet potato.  Try the chips with a fresh fruit salsa.

Blue Corn--Nutty flaxseed, quinoa and organic blue corn create a robust yet versatile chip to be enjoyed alone or paired with a fresh dip.

Cantina--We start with all-natural stone-ground yellow corn to make fresh tortillas, allow them to cool and rest for 24 hrs. prior to being but, lightly cooked in sunflower oil, and sprinkled with a pinch of sea salt.  This authentic recipes results in an unbeatable crispy and flavorful yellow corn chip.

We are big salsa and chips fans in our house, and I am always on the look out for new tortilla chips to try that are not only great to dip, but are also healthy.  Many of the tortilla chips on the market are just too salty, and when I read the ingredients on the back, many of them include things GMOS's.  Now, as an average consumer, I have not idea what GMO's are, nor do I want to consume a product with genetically modified ingredients.  So, when I was offered the opportunity to try out Food Should Taste Good's tortilla line of products, I jumped at the opportunity, as I read from their website that they are all-natural and good for you.  

So, the past few weeks, we have been having chips and salsa and chili and chips, in order to sample each of the tortilla chips that were sent to me.  After sampling each, I have to say my favorite was the Blue Corn tortilla chip.  It reminded me of the chips I get at some of the Mexican restaurants we used to go to.  However, the tortilla chips from Food Should Taste Good, were a better health choice for me, and contained less salt.  I noticed the lower sodium content in each of the chips sampled, compared to restaurant chips, as I wasn't rushing to refill my glass of water after a handful of chips, like I do when we are dining out.  My husband's favorite chip was the Sweet Potato, followed in close second by the Cantina chip.  He especially loved eating the Sweet Potato tortilla chips straight from the bag, without the need of salsa or other dips.  And, just tonight, he picked up another bag of Sweet Potato chips at the market, so this lets me know he really enjoyed them.  

We will definitely be switching to this brand of tortilla chips from now on, and can't wait to serve these at Thanksgiving, as we know our family will love the taste.  And, they will be surprised to find out how healthy and good for them, these tortilla chips are.
