- Summary:
- The Sock n Boots franchise of stories was created to not only teach young children valuable life lessons, but also to stimulate positive thinking while building a bond between parents and children or teachers and students.
The goal of the books is to transform story time into an interactive bonding time.
Each Sock n Boots story begins with a question, then through the antics of the characters a lesson is taught that answers the question. Once the story is finished the question is posed again which opens the way for discussion and interaction. - Sock n Boots – Share

- My Thoughts:
I was sent a compilation copy of Sock n Boots which included the three stories above for review. First, let me say what cute characters Sock and Boots are. When I showed the cover to my daughter, she began to smile at the cute characters. Reading to my daughter is very important to me, and I try and find time throughout the day and especially at bedtime to sit down and read with her. I couldn't wait to dive into this book and see what the Sock n Boots franchise was all about. I love the fact that a question is posed at the beginning of each story, and then through the telling of the story a lesson is learned, which correlates with the question posed. Then, when you reach the end of the story, the question is asked again. This allows for greater discussion with your child about the lesson taught and how it can be applied to daily life, etc. I don't know of any other books out there that are like this. What a great way to open the lines of communication with your young child and get them talking about what they learned from these wonderful stories. It is one thing to sit down and read to your child, but it is another to be able to really talk with them and make sure they understand what was just read to them, as well as talk about lessons learned, your child's personal thoughts and opinions, etc. When you can do this, then you are truly enjoying the experience of reading and bonding with your child. Right now, my daughter is too young to discuss the stories in detail, but I will definitely continue to read her Sock n Boots, and when she is old enough, we will spend time talking about the stories in more detail and building that relationship of open communication between a parent and child, as well as a love of reading together.
- This is definitely a book worth picking up and sharing with your little one. They will love the characters and the cute illustrations that go along with each story. Don't be surprised if they ask you to read a particular story over and over again. I read all three to my daughter, and couldn't decide on a favorite. They were each that good!

- Disclosure: I was sent a copy of this book by the author in order to write up an honest review. The views above are mine and mine alone.
