I think I am being cruel to myself tonight, by writing about chocolate and not having any in the house. And, while sitting here blowing my nose and sniffling with a cold, it just doesn't seem fair. But, I want to make sure you all know about these wonderful chocolate shops and options with the upcoming holidays, as they make great gifts, or personal treats for us busy moms. :-)
Another chocolate I sampled recently was that of Asher's Chocolates, based out of PA. I am always on the hunt for the perfect piece of chocolate and make sure each time I travel I locate a chocolate shop or chocolate bar (if I am lucky to find one) and head there while on vacation, not only to sample their delectable treats, but also pick up chocolates to bring home as souvenirs and gifts. Gone are the days of postcards and trinkets. Instead, family and friends know that whenever I am on vacation, I will be coming home not only with photos and stories of my trip, but all a bag of chocolate for all to sample.
So, when I stumbled across Asher's Chocolates, I knew I had to reach out to them and see about doing a review. With a baby on the way, we are not traveling this year, so it was great to receive a box of assorted chocolates from Asher's Chocolatesto sample during these last few weeks of my pregnancy.
I was sent their 15 oz. assortment box seen above to sample, which included Asher’s Chocolates most delectable delights, smothered in creamy milk, decadent dark and cool white chocolate. Included in the box was Hazelnut Souffle, Mango Puree, Peanut Butter Smoothie, Cordial Cherries, as well as traditional flavors like buttercreams and nut clusters. Again, after opening the box and just looking at these chocolates, I thought I died and went to chocolate heaven. I always love to sample assortment boxes, as I feel like a kid in a candy store, as I read over the chart and match up the sweet treats in the photos with those in the box. I was never a fan of just picking a piece from the box and seeing what it is. My husband does this and it drives me crazy. I, on the hand, like to read about each of the chocolates in the box, so I know what I will be enjoying once I place it in mouth. Blame it on the pregnancy or changing hormones, but I was able to finish off the assortment box of chocolates in 2 days. In actuality, I could have ate it in one sitting, but I was trying to pace myself. :-)
I couldn't stop eating these chocolates. They were so good, and every flavor made my mouth water. I especially loved the nut clusters and chocolates that contained peanut butter. Those were the first to go in the box. Don't think I was selfish, I did offer my husband a few pieces. He, too, liked the flavor of the rich, milk chocolate. His favorites were the buttercream and the ones that contained coconut.
Well, to make my life harder when it comes to buying chocolates, I now have another online chocolate shop to head to when I need a chocolate fix, or are looking for a gift for family and friends.
So, if you are a fan of chocolate (who isn't?), then why not check out Asher's Chocolates today and pick up a few sweet treats for yourself or family today.
