Product Review: Finlandia Cheese

Who doesn't like cheese?  With a very active toddler at home and other due in November, my husband and I have found ourselves being creative when it comes to putting together fast and quick meals for dinner.  Because we don't have much time to actually sit down and eat (and enjoy) our meals, I don't see spending hours in the kitchen prepping meals each week.  So, I have begun using our crock pot again, brought back breakfast for dinner, where we have either french toast or eggs and bacon, and also fallen in love with sandwiches, which include the family favorite -- grilled cheese.

On a mission to find the perfect cheese for our quick dinners, I stumbled across Finlandia and requested a coupon to try out their product.  We have been using other cheeses (both expensive and moderate in price), but haven't found the cheese that makes just the right sandwich.  

So, over the weekend, we headed to the market and picked up a half pound of Finlandia cheese.  Our goal was to try either the Finlandia Lappi or Muenster cheeses, but our market only sold swiss cheese. We ended up picking up shaved steak meat and fresh baked bread and made homemade steak and cheese sandwiches for dinner that night.  Boy, were we impressed with the fresh and nutty taste of Finlandia Swiss.  Compared to other swiss cheeses we tried, this ranks as #1.  I have to admit, we ended up sampling the cheese after checkout on the drive home, but luckily there was still enough swiss cheese left to make dinner. :-)

Thanks Finlandia for letting me sample your cheese.  I will definitely be keeping an eye out at other markets we frequent for your muenster and Lappi cheeses.  I can only image how good a grilled cheese sandwich will be with your cheese.  And, I have printed out a handful of recipes that use Finlandia cheese from their site, that I will be incorporating into our weekly meal plan.  Click here to check out some great recipes -- who knows, you may stumble upon the perfect dinner for tonight!
