Summary:
Perfect for the littlest hands (and fashion forward toddlers), TOO PURPLEY! is now available as a board book.
Too purpley, too tickly, too puckery, too prickly!
What's a toddler to do with a closet full of clothes and nothing to wear? Try on everything, of course! Playful rhyming text and textile-driven art leap off the page in this board book edition, tailor-made for little hands.
My Review:
Not these clothes! Have you heard your daughter utter these words? If so, then you need to pick up this cute book to read together. Follow along as a cute pony-tailed toddler turns away a closet full of clothes that are put in front of her. Each outfit is either too purpley, to tickley or just not right. Children will laugh and smile as they read along see why this little girl doesn't like each outfit. And, the illustrations done by Genevieve Leloup only compliment this cute story. A quick read, this book is read for toddlers who don't like to sit still through longer books. They will also be captivated with the bright and colorful illustrations that go along with each outfit/feeling -- ie. stripey, polka-dotty, taggy, etc. My daughter loved this story and was intrigued with the illustrations. She would flip back and just look at the different illustrations that caught her eye. In the future, I see this as one of the first books my daughter will use to learn to read.
I can't wait to pick her up a copy of Jean Reidy's, Too Princessy! coming out in early 2012. Now, we are hooked on this author's cute and quick reads for young toddlers. If you are looking for a great book to read with your picky dresser, I highly suggest picking up this book today.
