Summary:
In this humorous twist on a visit to the zoo, just who has the more interesting view? As morning dawns, the zookeeper makes his rounds, exhorting the animals to wake up, comb their hair, and stand up straight. Soon their human visitors arrive, and the observations begin to flow. But just who is talking about whom? With a clever twist of text and bright and festive illustrations, this picture book will have children begging for a trip to the zoo.
My Review:
This is a great book for animal-loving children. Does your child like the zoo and the many creatures that live there? If so, then they will definitely love this book. I read this book to Savannah over the summer and then again this past Friday before we headed to the zoo on Saturday. This rhyming book introduces young children to the many animals found at the zoo. I loved the concept of the book -- the zoo keeper goes around and wakes up all the animals and tells them to get ready for the visitors to the zoo. Then, we see the families flow through the zoo, while enjoying each and every animal they encounter. At the end of the day as the zoo guests leave, the animals are left behind with the best view -- they watch as the families leave the park after having a great day at the zoo. What a cute book! The text flows nicely and the illustrations are amazing. They really bring the zoo animals to life, making the story flow and keeping young children entertained and eager to turn the page to see what animal is next to see at the zoo.
I will definitely be reading this to Savannah over the years and prior to and after our trips to the zoo. Right now, Savannah enjoys the book and waves to the animals as I read it to her. So, I know that this will be a treasured book for years to come.
