Summary:

Do you remember your very first pet?  Erika Engebretson sure does.  In fact, Pounce the kitten was so impactful on her life, she wrote a book about the little cat.

Pounce is the true story of an adventurous kitten that climbs, explores, and gets into trouble.  Through his strong imagination, Pounce explores deep, dark caves, climbs mountains, skates across icy glaciers, and camps out in harsh climates.

Engebretson hopes the story inspires everyone to believe in what they hope to achieve.

Pounce believes he can really do the things he dreams about. This is the message that I want to convey to the children and parents.”

Based on actual photos of Pounce and the recollections of those who loved him, the story and its visuals create a magical setting for the little cat to explore his world and express his dreams.

My Review:

Many people know that I am a pet lover, especially dogs.  When I heard about this book, I couldn't wait to read it, and see how another animal impacted someone's life.  I was not disappointed after reading this book.  What a truly heartfelt and inspiring story.  I am hoping to instill the love of animals in my children's, and know that with the help of this book and our 3 rescue dogs, they will learn about unconditional love.

If you love animals -- who doesn't?  Then, you must check out  Pounce today.  This is an easy-to-read book that will have your children wanting you to turn the page to see what Pounce does next.  I also loved the cute illustrations of Pounce as they related to the story.  Overall, this is a great family or bedtime read.
