Summary:

My Review:
Here is a book you don't see that often -- a book about the Gulf Oil Spill. Young readers follow Bella and her best friend Britt as they help to rescue their favorite pelican, who had plunged into the blackened sea. The girls seek out a sanctuary expert, who helps them save the pelican's life.
This is a another book to share with your child about the importance of taking care of our planet, not only for ourselves, but for the animals that share it with us. Many children may not know about the Gulf Oil Spill, and this is a great teaching tool to share with them. Who knows, you may even create an environmentalist out of your child! It is nice to see a well written and easy to read story that talks about real-life situations, and how young children can do their part to make the Earth a better and safer place for all.
