My Review:

I have to say that this is my favorite counting book by far.  Not only are the illustrations amazing, but I just love the rhyming story, which follows a young boy who takes his Grandpa to the zoo for the day.  Your children will not only learn how to count from 1 to 10 with this book, but they will also learn about all the different types of animals found at a zoo.  This book is a great talking point about the animals and a great teaching tool for counting.  Your children will want you to read this over and over again.  And, when your children begin to learn to read, they will definitely want to read this book to you.  Truly a great book, that will definitely be treasured in my family's book collection for year to come.

About the Author:

I was born and raised in Murray, Utah.  The youngest of three girls,  I was a happy child with lots of energy and imagination.

I wrote my first poem when I was five and have never stopped writing.  I took my pen and notebook with me everywhere I went.  I thought it was fun to play with words, to mix them up and twist them around into a humorous story or a poem that sparked emotion.  I also liked to draw.

I fell in love with picture books when I wrote my first one in high school in a creative writing class.  I knew then that one day I wanted to write and publish picture books.  After college, I went to work and started my family but I kept writing in my spare time.

It wasn't until later (and years of practice) when I stopped working my full time job that I decided it was time to learn all I could about writing for publication.

I now live in  Northern California wine country with my husband Dave,  our children Boston and Olivia, and one four legged best friend named Cosmo.

In my spare time I like to read, golf and play in the dirt in my garden.  Most of the time, however, you can find me at the computer playing with words and living my dream as a writer.
