My Review: 

I  had the opportunity to review Playful Planet's Storyland Yoga myself, and also shared it with some of my mommy playgroup friends.  What I loved most about this DVD is that it teaches simple yoga poses by having children imitate animals.  For those not familiar with Playful Planet, check out the website here.  Their programs not only educate children about health and wellness, but also teach them about the planet and how to take care of it.  And, Playful Planet was developed by a mom!  How great is that?!!!!

Storyland Yoga is geared towards children ages 3-8 years old. Having said that, I heard wonderful feedback from my mommy friends who had their children ages 3-7 years old watch and try this yoga DVD.  The children loved the interactive and fun feel.  Moms know that exercise is important and that many children would prefer to sit in front of a computer or television.  Now, with this DVD, their children are having fun, while getting much needed exercise and learning about the planet.  Some of the moms did the yoga poses alongside their children, so it turned into a family affair.  Other moms who practice yoga weekly, said their children liked how they could be like mom, and do yoga. 

This DVD also makes a great tool for moms looking to help children calm down and unwind at bedtime.  One mom used this DVD as a relaxation tool before bed, and said that her daughter was able to fall asleep easier and wake up feeling refreshed.

About the Founder of Playful Planet:

Karen Duggan is inspired by her 5-year-old daughter Lily’s excitement for the small things: blades of grass, clogs of dirt, animals of all kind. She has held positions as the Corporate Senior Manager in a growing publicly- traded restaurant (Grill Concepts, Inc. – Nasdaq: GRIL) and the Business Development Manager for a South African multiplex Cinema company (Ster-Kinekor) as it expanded into Europe. Karen also worked for many years in sales and marketing – first for a publisher and then for a medical equipment manufacturer.

Karen is known by business associates for her skills in managing others and keeping projects on track; she is known by friends for her interest in health and nutrition, her concern for the planet, and her love of being a mother.
