Summary:
A popular character education professional transforms ANTI-BULLYING into PRO-KINDNESS and PRO-EMPATHY with these ten powerful, true stories. Each tells of ordinary people who leave an indelible, positive imprint on humanity by making a simple choice. Story characters choose to react with selflessness rather than selfishness, with gentleness rather than violence, with love and kindness rather than hate or anger. Any of us can choose to be a bucket filler, a person who treats others with kindness, or a bucket dipper, a person who treats others carelessly. Reading level is age 9 to adult. Share these unforgettable stories with children you love and easily teach the power of compassion, forgiveness, and the miracles that can be created by expressing love. For use in classrooms and families, each story ends with "Let's Talk About It", discussion questions that will facilitate talks about feelings and choices. The READING LEVEL is for children, age 9 and up. Parents, teachers, and social workers are also enjoying the stories!
My Review:
If you are looking for a book to share with your child based on the bucket filling concept of love, respect and kindness, then you should check out Stacey Lundgren's book entitled "True Bucketfilling Stories: Legacies of Love." In this quick read, Lundgren shares true short stories, which are followed up with discussion questions - making it a perfect read between parent and children or teacher and students.
Each of the ten short stories are truly heartwarming and touching. The stories showcase always being true to one self, and if you want to make a positive impact on those around you, you first need to be a positive person.

According to the author, "The goal in writing this book is to show children (and remind adults) that the real heroes in life are ordinary people that anyone can emulate. The fictional heroes out there today (vampires, werewolves, Spider Man, etc.) cannot be emulated, and most of us parents wouldn't WANT our children to follow in these phony footsteps."
This is the perfect book to share with your children above values, and it reiterates the age old Golden Rule: "Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You - Matthew 7:12." If you show kindness and empathy in your daily interactions with others, you will be rewarded in the same way.
About the Author:
Stacey comes from a strong background in training, teaching and public speaking. She served as the sales trainer for two Fortune 500 companies and presenter/trainer for a multi-state personal effectiveness organization.
She currently is Co-Owner and Lead Presenter of the Michigan-based character education organization, Bucketfillers For Life, Inc. Stacey is a member of the National Speakers Association, National Association of Counsel for Children, MAMSE (Michigan Association of Middle School Educators) and other educational organizations.
Since her return to Michigan, after living for years in Utah and Alaska, Stacey has presented character education assemblies and workshops to thousands of students and teachers in over 300 schools. In addition, she has done keynotes and break-out sessions for parenting, child care and education conferences and numerous business presentations.
Her book True Bucketfilling Stories: Legacies of Love was recently released. The book is a compilation of stories Stacey heard or experienced of people choosing love and kindness and the ripple effects those choices had in their lives and the lives of others. She wrote it as a tool for classrooms and families to facilitate discussions (questions are at the end of each story) about the powers of choice and love.
Stacey's recent addition as semi-monthly columnist for the highly-respected online news source Troy Media, has increased her impact as a writer of inspirational pieces.
Stacey's sense of humor, passion for life and determination to make a difference in the lives of others resonate with all who hear her speak. Her personal life experiences have given her a wealth of knowledge on the topics of domestic violence, divorce, child abuse, and the gift of emotional survival. This, in turn, has given her a refreshing and realistic view on life--one that is a unique combination of laughter, compassion and toughness. Stacey is the mother of five children from ages 36 to 17, three of whom were adopted at the ages of 13, 12 and 7.

I want to win this because I actually want to read the book! I use the concept of bucket filling in my classroom with my students which is a concept they totally get. My principal actually hooked me on the idea of bucket filling so after reading it, I would probably give the book to her!
