Lifetime Networks New Series -- One Born Every Minute

Show Synopsis:

The hospital docu-series One Born Every Minute airs on Lifetime at 10pm ET/PT Tuesdays. The series takes an in-depth look at life inside the maternity ward at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, as expectant mothers enter their final stage of pregnancy. From the delivery room, to the operating room, to the front desk, to the nurses’ station...40 cameras roll 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to capture the high drama, humor and overwhelming emotion of child birth as new lives begin and others change forever. Based on the popular U.K. format, One Born Every Minute is produced by Reveille Independent, with Elisabeth Murdoch (MasterChef), Howard T. Owens (MasterChef), Daniel Soiseth (America’s Next Top Model), Robin Ashbrook (Live to Dance), Shelley Schulze (Trauma: Life in the ER), Sanjay Singhal (The Event: How Racist are You?) and JoAnn Alfano, Gena McCarthy and Sandy Varo Jarrell of Lifetime Television executive producing.

My Review:

I had the opportunity to screen tonight's episode (2/15) in advance, in order to share my thoughts with you.  Just having had Savannah 6 months ago, this episode brought back memories of the entire labor and delivery process.  What sets this series apart from the other baby shows that have aired on television, like A Baby Story, etc., is that it provides raw footage, and documents what goes on in a maternity ward 24 hrs. a day.  They don't cut out like othe shows do.  Instead, they share with the viewer the real experiences and emotions felt not only by the mother in labor, but also by her support system by her side (including husbands, boyfriends, family and more). If you were hooked on shows like A Baby Story like I was, you must watch or TIVO this new series.  You can catch up on missed episodes online, as well as learn about the doctors featured on the show.  The Lifetime Network has set up an official website for the show, and offers behind the scenes footages, recaps, and much more.

  1. Is this is the best show on TV or what! I use to watch "A Baby Story" and I've been watching it for years. I'm only 22 years old and I have no kids but the joys of motherhood always tickled me pink. I watched the most recent episode and the father (I forgot his name) had ADD and he was all over the place. He was entertaining to watch but I think this gives a true account of what it's like. I work and susbscribe to DISH Network and I watched the show in HD and there is nothing better than watching the show in the best quality possible. The best part about it is that I will never pay another penny to watch my favorite shows in HD because of the HD Free for Life promotion. I always invite people to try DISH out and I am inviting whoever comes across this post to explore DISH Network and take advantage of a value unseen by any other TV providers!
