Sustainable Music Play for Children from Green Tones -- Review and #Giveaway

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Green Tones

My husband and I are not musical people, but we have seen firsthand the positive impact music and instruments can have on little ones, after taking local Music Together classes with the girls.  For over a year, we would take the girls every Saturday AM to a class filled with other children who were a few weeks old through 4 yrs. of age.  In addition to learning fun new songs, the kids got to try out different musical instruments, as well as listen to the music teacher play her guitar and drums.  After the first few classes, we could see the girls getting into the classes.  By the end of the first semester both of our girls had memorized the semester's songs (10 songs) and add new words to their growing vocabulary.  And, unlike their parents they had rhythm and could carry a tune, which I was also impressed at.  We asked the girls if they wanted to continue to music classes, and both said, "Yes" with excitement in their voices.

We recently took a semester off to try out gymnastics classes with the girls, but found that while they had fun doing gymnastics, they were more inspired and got more excited with the music classes.  So, after the summer is over, we will be heading back to music classes, and watching the girls flourish musically.  But, in the meantime, the girls are having fun playing with fun wooden musical instruments we were recently sent to review from Green Tones.

When the girls were signed up for music classes, I had picked up an assortment of musical instruments for them to play with, but found that they were as excited with these toys as they were with the wooden instruments found in their music classes.  Some of the instruments we had didn't produce the same sounds you would expect from a good quality musical instrument, while others didn't last long, breaking after a few uses by the girls.  Having not had good experiences with musical instruments for kids in the past, I wasn't expecting much from the two Green Tones instruments we were sent.  But, I have to say, I am so happy to have had the chance to review them, as they are great.  Not only are they well made, but they are perfect for little ones to play with and will last a long time.

Made of out of wood, just holding the instruments in your hand, you can see thought went into the construction of each product with little hands in mind. :-)

Both of my girls kept reaching for the Mommy Bear Drum, while I was in charge of shaking the Baby Bear Shaker.

What fun we had singing some of our favorite songs from past music classes, as well as new songs they girls recently learned from shows and movies we have watched together as a family.  I have shared in the past how we love to have impromptu dance parties.

Well, now, we can't help but break out in song and dance as we parade around the house like a marching band, playing with the fun musical instruments from Green Tones.

I plan to add additional musical instruments from Green Tones to our family of instruments including the following...

While I am no musical genius, I can see the girls having a blast creating their own songs with accompanying music, thanks in part to these wooden instruments from Green Tones, and the music classes we exposed them to early on.  If you are looking for fun ways to get your little ones excited about music, or just want to try something new with them, why not consider looking for local parent and child music classes to attend, or better yet, visit http://gogreentones.com and pick up an assortment of wooden musical instruments to use with the kids.

My girls love tapping away at the Mommy Bear Drum and hearing the different sounds it makes, when they hit it certain ways.

And, the Baby Bear Shaker is perfect for little ones, or on the go fun, as it fits perfectly in a diaper bag.

I loved how both of these wooden instruments had string handles so that you could hand and store, or little ones could grasp and carry around the house with.  They made for great in-house marching band fun. :-)
