The Zelfs Take Over Hartford -- Keep An Eye Out to Get a FREE Zelf Doll at Local Events Until the End of June (Review and Giveaway)

The quirky line of collectible dolls with the most spike-tacular hair, The Zelfs are launching exclusively at Toys“R”Us and Walmart stores in the Hartford area, starting June 10.

Playing off of the ever popular trend of hair play and expected to be a hot toy for girls this holiday season, the Zelfs come in a variety of sizes with names like Vampula (the vampire Zelf), Mermalade (the mermaid Zelf) and Miss Clover (the ultra-rare four leaf clover Zelf)."

 

In addition to launching in stores, Zelfs samples will also be handed out at local Hartford events throughout the month of June!  So, check your local events calendar and other CT tourism sites to find Hartford events scheduled, and show up with your family, for a chance to get one of these cute Zelfs to take home! :-)  Look for people wearing brightly-colored Zelfs t-shirts, as they will be handing out FREE Zelfs!!!

Remember back in the day when plastic dolls with crazy colored furry hair was all the rave?  I can't tell you how many of these cute this guys I managed to collect.  Even though I was in middle school it was still cool to collect and trade these good luck charms. :-)  I was surprised to find out that my mom had saved these in a shoe box for me, and that I will be able to share my collection soon with my girls.  But, in the meantime, they get to start their own collection of crazy haired collectible dolls called Zelfs, which are put out by Moose Toys.

While Zelfs bear some resemblance to dolls I collected as a youth, Zelfs are unique in their right.  Not only are they larger than the ones I collected in the past, but they also come with their own unique persona, a Zelf power represented by a Zelfmark, matching charms, a brush and hair accessories to tame their Zelf's crazy hair. And, with a suggested retail price of only $6.99, these are an affordable doll to start a collection of for your child. :-)

I was recently sent a Zelf doll to review, which also included 1 charm, 1 comb, 3 elastic hair bands and 1 collector's Leaflet.  If Savannah hadn't seen the Zelf, I think I would have kept it for myself -- it was that cute, and reminded me of my youth. :-)  But, like always, she was awake when the Zelf sample was delivered, and saw me take it out of the box.  As soon as I handed it to her, she couldn't help but smile at the Zelf and its' crazy hair.  At first, Savannah didn't want me to open the package as it was too cute to take out of the package.  But her hands got itchy and she started opening the package. :-)

Once her Zelf was out of its package, Savannah couldn't put it down.  Everywhere she went, she carried her Zelf with her.  And, while watching her afternoon cartoons, she sat quietly (which I was amazed at) and brushed her Zelf's hair.  She asked me to help style it, as she wanted her Zelf to have pony tails, like she was wearing.  How could I say no, as this was my excuse to play with the cute Zelf.  That afternoon, Savannah and I tried out different hair styles and had fun playing with her new Zelf doll.  And, by the time Arabella awoke from her nap, Savannah had a new friend to show her. She ran over to Arabella and tickled her nose with the Zelf, before letting her hold (only for a short time). :-)

We will definitely be picking up more Zelf dolls to add to our collection.  Hopefully, we will have luck in finding the ultra rare Clover Zelf. :-)  For more information about The Zelfs, visit www.moosetoys.com
