Start to Finish Entertainment presents a new educational DVD series for children. The first in this unique series entitled Start to Finish Starring Whoops and Bubbs teaches children that everything in their world has a process: a beginning, a middle and an end.
Whoops, a kind, sensitive and often clumsy character asks questions, helps out and learns as his best friend, Bubbs explains each Start to Finish episode. Together, the two help children feel confident asking questions as well as provide comic relief.
Each of four episodes illustrate how things are made and how things are achieved. Through real-life footage from a dairy farm, a pizza parlor, a firehouse and an applesauce factory, children go on a virtual field trip to discover how milk is made, how pizza is created, how firefighters put out fires and how apples are made into applesauce.
My Thoughts:
I was sent a copy of the Start to Finish DVD, starring Whoops and Bubbs, to watch with Savannah. As soon as I put this DVD on, she fell in love with these two loveable puppet characters. I love how this DVD teaches children about how things are made and the importance of exploration and friendship, through the use of these two comical characters.
Out of the four episodes, Savannah's favorite was Toss it Up: Pizza in the Making!
She is a huge pizza lover, like most children are, and enjoyed learning how to make a pizza, as well as learning about shapes. By the end of this episode, she was asking for pizza! Even though this episode was Savannah's favorite, she enjoyed the three other educational episodes, which taught her about where milk come from (the process from milking all the way to the grocery store), how applesauce is made (from the orchard to the factory, where they are peeled and mashed) and about the day in the life of a firefighter. I especially loved the firefighter episode as it shared all aspects of this job, as well as how important teamwork is in keeping each firefighter safe when they are called to duty, to put out a fire.
And, with a running time of only 50 minutes and the ability to watch each episode separately, made for a great afternoon learning and bonding activity with Savannah. The short length also kept Savannah's attention, allowing her to learn while she was entertained. Overall, this is an amazing learning series, and one that I will continue to order and share DVDs with Savannah. I love how comic relief is used with these two fun loving puppets, in such a way to not only provide entertainment for children, but also help them to learn and want to explore new things. Now young children will know how things they find at the market and stores are made, as well as the duties that go along with occupations that they find fun. This educational series would also be great for homeschooling parents to share with their children, as it teaches children how everything in life has a start and a finish.

I learned the dvd is about how things are made...which my four year old would love. One of his favorite shows is "How It's Made" on the Science Channel.
