Good Earth® Original™ Sweet & Spicy™ Caffeine Free Herbal Tea

An aromatic sweet cinnamon tea with hints of orange. Our full flavored signature blend is added to caffeine-free rooibos herbal tea, offering a rich, spicy fragrance followed by a sweet, warming, clean taste without added sugar. 

INGREDIENTS

Rooibos, chicory root, artificial flavor, rosehips, cinnamon, peppermint, lemongrass, papaya leaves, chamomile, panax ginseng leaves, anise seed, dandelion root, ginger root, orange peel and orange oil.

My Thoughts:

If you read a recent post on another tea review, then you know that I am a huge tea lover, especially chai teas.  So, when I was sent Good Earth's Original Sweet and Spicy Herbal Tea Blend to try, I couldn't wait to see how this tea tastes.  The are two different versions of this flavor on the market -- regular or caffeine-free.  I was sent their caffeine-free version, with natural flavors. 

I made  a cup of this tea last night, when I was having "me time."  As the tea was steeping, i could smell the cinnamon flavor.  I wondering because I could smell such a strong cinnamon scent if the tea would be too overpowering with cinnamon.  But, after the first sip, I was in heaven.  With just the right amount of sweetness and spice, you could taste the cinnamon, followed by a hint of ginger and anise.  My taste buds were going crazy with each sip I took.  And, by the end of the glass, I wished I had made more.  In addition to hot teas, you can also make iced tea with this tea.  I can't wait until the warmer weather to see how this sweet and spicy tea is when chilled.  

Last night I made the tea without adding any milk.  But, this afternoon, after I put the girls down for a nap, I made another cup of this tea, and added some milk.  Wow.  What a creamy and smooth taste adding the milk made.  Even though milk was added, the depth of the cinnamon flavor, along with the anise, orange, ginger and other natural flavors were still pronounced.  The milk just elevated the flavor, adding to this sweet and spicy experience.  I can't wait until I have friends over to offer them a cup of this tasty tea.

And, if you have a gluten allergy, don't despair as this tea is gluten-free!  I also love the fact that it doesn't contain MSG, so if you are pregnant, you can still enjoy a cup of this tea.  Whenever I eat or drink foods containing MSG, I get a massive headache, so this usually a deterrent with many teas on the market, as they contain MSG.  I was happy to see that this tea doesn't contain it, so I can have a few cups a day, and not have to worry about headaches or the caffeine crash mid day.
