Feature Friday: MommyJuice Wines (Review and Giveaway)

This past Monday, I had the opportunity to introduce you all to Cheryl Durzy, the creator of MommyJuice Wines.  If you missed my spotlight interview with her, click here to read it now.  Today, I wanted to share my thoughts on her red and white wines, as she graciously sent me samples to try.  In addition, Cheryl is offering one lucky a chance to win a bottle of each (Red and White) of her MommyJuice wines, as well as a 20% off coupon code.  Isn't she nice?  I think so!  And, that is me talking, not the wine. :-)

First, here is a little background on the wine and MommyJuice Wines product, care of Cheryl's website:

MommyJuice White Wine Aromas of tropical fruit salad—pineapples, guava and bananas. Hints of lemon grass and citrus rind as well. Kiwi, lime and a hit of grassiness round out this very fruit forward Chardonnay. Drop the kids at a sitter and drink on a picnic with your significant other or at GNO (Girl’s Night Out). Blend: 100% Chardonnay Source: Monterey County Alcohol: 13.5% TA: .80/100ml Ph: 3.4

My Thoughts:

First, let me start off my saying, "Yum!"  I think I am the perfect candidate to review these wines, as being a mom to two girls under the age of 2 -- one which is teething, and the other who has colic -- my days are hectic and busy to say the least.  In order to recharge my batteries and remain sane, I find that taking 10-15 minutes after everyone is asleep (including the husband), helps to relieve tension from the day and helps me unwind, so that I can sleep, too.  Before, I would make a cup of green tea and read a a few pages from a book.  But, thanks to Cheryl sending me her two wines to sample, my ritual has changed.  Now, I follow the doctor's order of 1 glass (maybe 2 on those really stressful days) of wine a day to keep the doctor away, while I sit in the dimly lit living room, and do some deep breathing or meditation.  Ahh, this is so relaxing and peaceful, and what I look forward to each night.  And, thanks to these amazing wines, I feel like I am pampering myself more with a treat at night -- a nice glass of wine to sip and reflect on the day, and plan out my agenda for the next day.  

If asked which wine do I prefer, red or white, I would have always gone with red, as I love the fruity, berry taste that most reds are associated with.  I usually drink white wine with dinner, as red pair so much better with desserts or drunk on their own.  My husband on the other hand is a huge white wine fan.  So, I ended up giving him a taste of both to see what his thoughts were, and go figure, he liked the white more, while I leaned toward the red.  But, in the end, within 2 weeks, both bottles were gone, and each and every night there was a happy mom at home, resting comfortably in bed after her nightcap.  Who can blame me for wanting to unwind after a day of diaper changes, formula feedings, changing of outfits, multiple loads of laundry, house cleaning, picking up of toys, making and cleaning up dinner, baths, putting the girls to bed (which is not an easy feat, and can last 1 to 1 1/2 hrs.), just to name a few.  This is what most moms of little (and big) kids deal with on a daily basis.  It comes with the job, which I love. But, after a long day, all you want to do is be able to have some "me time," and unwind.  And, this is where MommyJuice Wines comes in. Cheryl has created an amazing line of wines to help busy and stressed moms like me relax after a crazy day, simply by pouring ourselves a glass of her tasty red or white wines.  In minutes, my stresses from they day seem to melt away, and I end up going to bed relaxed and with nothing on my mind.  And, on occasion, the cheeks get red, with 2 glasses of wine -- but, you can fault me, right?  Once you try MommyJuice Wines, you may find yourself having more than one glass in a sitting.

I am loving the labels of these wines, and love how they were made especially for moms/women in mind.  Now, I have a go-to wine when I am looking to plan a "Girls Night Out/In," or looking for a unique gift to give a girlfriend for their birthday or just because.  And, when you are buying these wines to give as gifts, it is hard to not think of yourself, and want to order a few to have on hand for unexpected guests, or for your "me time."  You can't go wrong with either the red or the white wine from the MommyJuice product line.  Both offer a unique taste that is pleasing to the palette.  They both pair well with cheeses, dessert and entrees, or can be enjoyed on their own.  Each one will help wipe away the days stresses, while offering a smooth and flavorful treat, that you expect from a fine wine.
